My interview with John Wesley Harding for
Being There, a pop culture online mag from Toronto, is finally up- and I got the 'cover'! Read the interview
here and then dump buckets of praise on me for my hard-hitting, in-depth interview style. Boy can I make 'em squirm.

Holy fucking shit! It's great! Bravo, sir! Bravo!
Seriously. Congratulations. It's a nice article/interview. Sounds like you two really hit it off. But you never asked him if I was ever going to finish my dissertation, nor his earliest child memory. And what did he want to be when he grew up? I take it back. Nothing but softballs and reach arounds.
I actually had a lot more material, but some of it was so process-of-recording-geeky it would have bored a lot of folks. I also have several 'off the record' outtakes and passages I couldn't transcribe because of background noise at the restaurant. Some pro I am.
ROWYCO, sir. Damn fine piece!
And thank God you didn't ask him any of my stupid questions.
Fantastic piece, I must say, even if it means agreeing with a couple of bastards. I loved how you focused in a bit on the Miss Fortune song, the detail about the rhyme for world was a truly inspired centerpiece, and then broadened out to his music, his novel writing, his process. Gave it a sense of intimacy while still supplying the broad strokes, so it makes for a good read whether you're a fan or completely unfamiliar.
Which I am!
