Victor Wooten Solo

Nice take on a personal favorite. It's just a shame the guy didn't spend his time learning a more practical instrument.

While this is not Rufus Wainwright (I promise), I heard an amazing song of his tonight, "Going to a Town." Anyone got any?

Man, that's amazing. Imagine how famous he'd be if he had chosen to play a cool instrument.

I recently read a review of Rufus' "Rufus! Rufus! Rufus! does Judy! Judy! Judy!" album, where he recreated a famous Judy Garland concert (Carnegie Hall, I think). It actually got a pretty good review. Jay would be more able to really judge, seeing as he has been doing his Garland tribute act for so long. Of course, Rufus didn't wear the make-up and do the dance routines like Jay does, but I think he's got more vocal chops than Jay does. And he probably didn't cry at the end like Jay does.

Gay/Jay bashing aside, I've never been able to really get into his stuff. I know a Dylan fan should never say this, but his voice kind of annoys me. I LOVE his father's stuff, though.

Oh, hell yeah, Dead Skunk, et al.

Jay's Garland act is amazing. He breaks into it spontaneously sometimes when we're at lunch and everyone in the restaurant just stares at us. Guess they can't believe it's not Judy.
