I am generally enthusiastic about the positive influence our friends from south of the border have brought to our culture. This is an exception. Jay can have mine.
This appears to be a big party drink in the Latino communities of Italy, or California, if you prefer. Basically beer and tomato juice ...
From BNET Research Center:
"Both Clamato and Budweiser are leaders in their categories," said Clamato product manager Marcel Nahm. "Both enjoy a strong following among Hispanics, north and south of the border."
Sorry about my lengthy silence guys. What? You didn't even notice? Anywho... my mom and I enjoy drinking a nice 'Red Beer' in the summer time. It can be somewhat refreshing. I took this up when I visit her because they usually have Miller Lite around the house and I had to do something to make it palatable. Just a smidge of bloody mary mix or plain V8 creates a delightful treat. Can't imagine buying it pre-mixed however.
Dave, could your appreciation of this beverage in any way be attributed to your being 1/16 Mexican, or do you think that caucasians might also enjoy it?
Andy will appreciate the base reason behind my absence: Egg Nog. Details and lurid photos to follow when I can type more than four sentences at a time.

I can see how only a watery american beer would be suited in such a concoction--I don't see Sam Adams getting on this bandwagon--but still, yuck.
I must admit I am now regretting that I didn't buy some. I will do so next time, and report back.

I guess if you have work the next morning, this way you can get the bloody mary in along with the beer the night before.

(Welcome back, by the way; I DID miss you.)
Your absence was noticed but not unprecedented, so we did not send out a search party. Welcome back!
Who's Dave?
Odd, Jay told me I was replacing Dave.
