At the CD store, I ambushed the They Might Be Giants double CD of early stuff, B-sides and bonus tracks called Then, which contains the illuminating We're the Replacements. The second CD contains Lincoln, but also 18 other tracks, so I'll go ahead and put it all over there in our happy place.
Jay, do you remember seeing Frank Black with one of the TMBG Johns playing as 'They Might Be Frank,' which was originally slated to be called 'They Might Be Black' until the requisite brouhaha (sp?) was raised?
Thanks for this. One of my favorite shows I ever saw was Frank Black solo opening for TMBG at House of Blues. FB started with an acoustic, and then just kept adding guitars to his body every couple of songs. By the end, he had something like six guitars slung over his shoulder.

I REMEMBER THAT!!!! Sadly, I was out of town and couldn't see the show, but remember being frustrated having to miss it. Were you there?
Don't miss the last track: school children singing Particle Man, cool.

I didn't see that show with you, Joe, nor do I remember it. I'm only slightly concerned now ...
Thanks, Lurker. I'll get to this eventually.
I guess I went with someone else. Love Spit Love did an acoustic opening set. It was quite the evening.
Around Christmas, wasn't it? I think I was going to pick up Kendall that night.
Am I crazy, or is one of the Johns doing a spot-on Frank Black impersonation on "For Science?"
