Name Your Favorite Stones Album

Did any of you fellers know that Sonny Motherscratching Rollins played sax on Tattoo You? Or that Townshend sang some background vocals?

Lurker got me thinking about this over lunch the other day ... Everybody name your fave Stones album. Hell, I'm feeling generous today, so you can make it your top two if you can't decide.

I gotta go with Exile. It's such a masterwork. But Sticky Fingers runs a close second.

How about the worst?

Dirty Work is a big ol' steaming turd. What's your worst?

As far as solid-from-start-to-finish albums are concerned, I gotta go with Some Girls or Tattoo You. I love Exile On Main Street, too ...

I think probably Dirty Work as well, though I didn't like Steel Wheels or Voodoo Lounge either. I'm also not crazy about 'Black and Blue.'

Undercover was shit.

Guess it's just you and me today, hunh?

Interesting stuff I didn't know about Tatoo You. Let It Bleed is the one that just does it for me, beginning to end. I guess Beggar's next, and Undercover is worst. I don't think I've ever heard Dirty Work. I won't make a point of it.

I'm a big fan of Tattoo You, Beggar's Banquet, and the oft-maligned Goat's Head Soup. Exile is great. Sticky Fingers is good. I love Button to Button and Aftermath for the 60s stuff.

I like Goats Head Soup too. A lot of people hated it, but I picked it up a couple of years ago and really enjoy it.
