Joe, Jeff Tweedy Thinks It's Okay If You Don't Like His New Album

Damn fine interview with Tweedy at The Onion's A.V. Club.

Read it here.

I'd love to interview Jeff Tweedy. John Stirrat, Wilco's bassist, used to live on Maurepas Street across from Anthony (but before I lived there). He still visits N.O. fairly often I'm told. There's a great story about the time he was trying to change the brake pads on some vintage car and Anthony offered to help, only to break something really important on the car. Classic.

That's a good interview. I've really changed my mind on the record. I quite like it now. It's just really subtle, and I was expecting something a little more lively. It's almost got an AM Gold vibe going on. It's probably going to come across really welly live. Hope I get to see them on this tour.

I'm about four songs in, but I'm liking it more than I thought I would. Pretty mellow schtuff.

'Hate it Here' is starting to sound like a stone soul classic to me.

I'm digging it right out of the gate. It was great seeing that out there when I got back from Durham.

I love what you've done with the blog's banner. Since hearing some of Dave's coup ideas, I always think of that as the laughing Dave of death. It looks like maybe the last face a dying Poobah would see.
