1) What is your earliest childhood memory?
I think I was 2 or 3. I was the mascot for the football team my father coached. I was the first one to run through the banner at the beginning of the game. I don't remember how it happened, but I tripped and got trampled by about half the team. Thanks for making me bring all that back up again, Jay.
2) What three personal items would you take from your burning home?
See #4
3) What did you want to be when you grew up?
I don't know, but this wasn't it.
4) What are your five all time favorite albums?
1. Bob - Blonde on Blonde
1. Elvis - Back in Memphis
2. Stones - Exile
2. Mats - Let It Be
3. Who - Who's Next (no, Quadrophenia...no, wait...)
3. Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne
4. Neil - Tonight's the Night
4. Clash - The Clash
5. Pete - Who Came First
5. Townes VZ - Rear View Mirror
5) What is something you'd like to change about yourself?
Well, I can't imagine how I could be better looking, so I guess I would like the humility to deal with it.
1) Earliest childhood memory: I was in a store of some sort and wanted something. My mom said no. I started to cry. I grabbed her by the arm and tugged and screamed. Then I realized that it wasn't my mom. Then my mom was embarassed and pissed.
2) 3 personal items.
My girlfriend, my cat, a guitar.
3) Grow up?
A comic book artist. But never an inker.
4) 5 all-time favorite albums.
Impossible. Simply impossible. People own 2000 albums for a reason. This week I'd take:
1) The Beatles - The Beatles
2) Frank Black - Teenager of the Year
3) Elvis Costello - Trust
4) The 'Mats - Pleased to Meet Me
5) Subteens - Burn Your Cardigan
5) Change?
The people I choose to blog with.
Et tu, little Davey Dynamo...?
So your girlfriend is a 'personal item,' Dave? I'm sure she'd love to hear that. I guess now that you mention it I'd probably take my kids, and the dog. Cats can take care of themselves. Wives as well.
Okay, I guess I have to answer my own questions now ...
1) I remember being bathed in the kitchen sink. I must have been 2ish.
2) I should have specified non-living items ... My Musicman Stingray (even though I'm not currently playing the damn thing), some of my kids' artwork off the fridge, and the Swiss Army watch Soozan gave me when we got married.
3) I did the fireman and policeman thing for awhile in kindergarten, and then after I saw KISS, I wanted to do THAT.
4) I'm going with the five albums that had the greatest impact on me. In order, bitches!
1. KISS - Destroyer (2nd grade)
2. The Beatles - Abbey Road (6th grade)
3. The Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks (10th grade)
4. The Clash - London Calling (11th grade)
5. The Replacements - Pleased To Meet Me (summer between high school and college)
5) I have an ugly habit of starting new stuff full throttle, and then once the new has worn off, I get bored and lazy. And then there's the cross-dressing thing.
