Smokey and the Bandit was released around the same time as the original Star Wars. I think I saw each of them five or six times in the theater before deciding I preferred Star Wars. A pivotal moment in a young man's life: sci-fi comic dweeb or redneck douchebag. Thank God I picked the former.

I had Jerry Reed on 8-track in 5th grade. Wish I still had it.

I never saw The Waterboy, but apparently he was in it.
