Stanley Kubrick's then-17-year-old daughter, Vivian, was allowed to shoot behind the scenes on and around the various sets of
The Shining. That footage was then edited into a 35-minute documentary called
The Making of the Shining, which is a rather ambitious title for what this actually is, but it's worth watching just to see Jack Nicholson get in character before the "Heeeere's Johnny!" scene.
