Tom Waits, Marvin Hamlisch, Mike Douglas: Why the 70s Were Kind Of Awesome

The '70s are a great crossroads period, where great artistry was at the forefront of a lot of media (movies, TV, music, etc.), but rampant commercialism and throwaway culture was about to stomp them underground.
What do we have now that in 30 years will be comparable to Taxi Driver, SNL, Bruce, and the AMC Pacer?
Well said! Ah, the Pacer. Back when seatbelts were for looks, we had an LTD station wagon that we could roam around in on long trips. And our elementary school bus driver was a wild-driving hippie who would always stop and pickup hitchhikers. I was probably a teenager before I realized buses weren't in the same class as firetrucks and ambulances when it came to traffic laws.
