I found a used copy of The Decemberists CD from last Spring. There's a story developing throughout the album, which is a curious thing to find these days. It's not really grabbing me yet, but that may just be because it's more demanding than, say, a Ramones album. Fight Through Patiently and see what you think.

Thanks Lurker. I dug Picaresque but never could get into The Crane Wife; I'll be interested in hearing this. They are a surprisingly strong live band, but I find the vocal mannerisms a little fey for my tastes (and this coming from a Morrissey fan).
I LOVED Crane Wife! I remember when this one came out, critics seemed to either love it or hate it. Very strong opinions on both sides.
I listened to a live performance of The Hazards of Love on All Songs Considered, and I didn't get it. But I'll spin 'er again. Thanks!
