Shimmering Stars

Can't get enough of these guys lately.

I Said Goddamn

Glorious power pop from Red Kross. Thank you, Jebus.

Records

Anybody listening to anything good?

Curse your catchy sensibilities, it's Friday

Catchy Saturday?

Long week = you guys get pop music a day late and a holla short.
I'm a big Morning Benders fan, even though they've now changed their name to Pop Etc because "bender" is a pejorative name for gays in the U.K... So they say.
Anyway, I love Chris Chu's voice. There's a good little intro/artist's thoughts bit, song starts around 2:00.

Former Lives

So Ben Gibbard, beloved leader of Death Cab for Cutie, courted and married alterna-it-girl Zooey Deschanel. Then they got divorced. Then he wrote this album. Kind of like Beck's Sea Change for the 2010s, but not nearly as depressing. Great pop songwriting. For The Pop lovers amongst us, a real treat.

Catchy Friday

We still do pop, right? Enjoy.

And before I forget...

You know who is great? Bruno Mars. Fantastic songwriting and a very engaging vocalist. I know most of you idiots don't really dig modern pop music, but stop yer hating and Feel This Prophecy: you will dig this album.

Crazy Pills

Archie Powell and the Exports - as featured on the AV Club today. Mmmm...Power Pop... Also, I'm going to see Heartless Bastards tonight. Thought you might like to know.

Have we gone over this before?

I can't recall if we've 'discussed' the New Pornographers. If not, Finally There's Plans to do so. Great pop and Neko Case features throughout, which should put Joe on board at least.

And the music that's coming from my house tonight is..

The lead singer of The Format has formed a new band.  Very poppy, if you like that sort of thing.  (I like that sort of thing.)

Modern Art

I've only given this one spin, so I'm Feeling The Product still. Let me know what you guys think.

Baby Gift for All

I read somewhere about the new Telekinisis CD 12 Desperate Straight Lines.  Caught it streaming on NPR's site and loved it.  Forget The Pacifier, Simone, check this out!

What I Need Tonight

Happy 3-day weekend to bastards who are off on Monday!

Auditorium

American Princes - Auditorium  The song I can't get out of my head.  Nappy You Hear everyone.

Any of You Bastards Ever Listen to These Guys?

The Dandy Warhols had a few great albums early and gradually got worse. However, this is a great song and the video is even better because the chick is playing topless. Her name is Zia McCabe (aka Zia McBabe). She was hot then but weighs about 3 bills now. Anyway, did anyone else get into the Dandys? Is it bastard accepted, bastard approved?

New album preview...

I've Found The Patience to upload roughs of all the new songs in the proposed running order. I'd dig some honest feedback regarding the running order. Songs are still fairly rough (and some are even missing some recent additions) but they're getting there. 'Off White Wedding' and 'Can't See You Anymore' now have horn sections and I recorded a new solo on 'Everything Was Fine' but these parts aren't on here yet. Jamie added some killer pedal steel and guitar to 'Natchez' and 'Heart's on a String' and blew my mind. Those parts are on here. Feedback people- and don't blow sunshine up my ass.

Catchy......Monday?

Blair - Hello Halo

blair | MySpace Music Videos
Here's a video from a friend in New Orleans, Blair. She's a very talented singer and songwriter who has a new album being released in January. The guy behind the keyboards playing the tambourine is Adam, one of my best buddies. He's the fella who plays all the keys on my forthcoming album. Enjoy!!

The Morning Light

This is not bad, Feels Thoroughly Peppy to me.

I don't know when I've been more ready for a weekend. Enjoy yours.
