I know you name-checked the 'Mats in your post, Dave, but I just want to point out my admiration for Mr. Stinson's solo and band work (Bash 'n Pop, Perfect) outside of those other big bands. Some honkers, but every album he's done has had at least 2 or 3 perfect songs.

I agree. Tommy's post-Replacements work has been high quality, for the most part. (Not counting G'n'R). You forgot your score. I give him a 7/10.

7/10. I really like most of the Bash and Pop album, especially Tiny Pieces. Perfect didn't do too much for me, but I really dig the solo albums. Plus, he's Tommy fucking Stinson.
I think I saw him once in Austin, in the late 90's or early 00's.. and wasn't all that enamored. Don't know enough songs to comment.
