Wow, Look At That Sweet Rick Hofner bass!

The Ladybirds were an actual '60s era girl group from Jersey.

I hate that they didn't start a trend.

This actually the Danish (sometimes erroneously credited as Swedish or Norwegian) bad The Ladybirds, who famously opened for the New Yardbirds (later Led Zeppelin) at Roskilde.
The blonde, who used the name Sussi in the band is Margit Nellemann Andersen (20, at the time) who was originally in the first, or one of the first, Danish girl-groups 'Les Filles' before marrying a doctor and quitting (and now being embarrassed about this period). She still performs music to this day. Here she is looking young and innocent with 'Les Filles' in 1964: http://www.hagstromrules.com/14_Les_Filles.jpg

The others are Michelle Beauvais (23) who is the one with the tambourine in the picture; Puk Birgit Petersen (20), or "Jeanette" is the dark haired one on the Hofner bass; the drummer is Lonni Andersen (18), "Bonny". Their manager was Pierre Beauvais, previously of the Danish band the Strangers.
The Ladybirds are very, very cute.

Here is a link with images of them in Bergen, Norway (it misidentifies them as Swedes however): http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:The_Ladybirds_%28Swedish_band%29

My favourite (though I like them all) may be the cute teenage drummer, Lonni/Bonny and I like this pick of her with the very nice Margit/Sussi: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/42/The_Ladybirds_opptrer_i_Bergen_The_Ladybirds_performing_in_Bergen%2C_Norway_%281968%29_%282%29.jpg

Here is an article (in Norwegian) that tells a bit about them (and correctly calls them Danes: http://bergensiana.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/topplc3b8s.jpg

^A very cute picture of Lonni/Bonny.

Hi BR Gest,

Do you know the Ladybirds were playing in Sweden in the beginning of 1968 in Bacchi Wappen?
do you know the names of the members? I found some color pictures of this group. One of them is Hanne Mattson.
Kind regard,
Steve

The group as featured in the picture are the original line-up of Michelle Beauvais (age at the time: 23) who is the one with the tambourine in the picture; Puk Birgit Petersen (then 20), or "Jeanette" is the dark haired one on the Hofner bass; the drummer is Lonni Andersen (then 18), "Bonny". The blonde "Sussi" is actually Margit Nellemann Andersen (then 20).
Later line-ups included Pia Thurland, Hanne Mattson (as you, anonymous mentioned)), Marianne Hall Christensen (/Fredriksen). Interestingly Hanne Mattson and Marianne Hall Christensen both started out together in the band 'Girls Group'.

I'd love to see these coloured photos! Do you have links to them online? I think I only have three in colour; bad quality; I should upload them somewhere anyway.

I at this moment only can find one picture. If you have an emailaddress I will send it to you. I'm looking forward to see your pictures of the Ladybirds!
Kind regards,
Steve
