No Fun Zone?
Last Thursday . . . a tall man with a device resembling a 1980s-era cellphone was going door to door on Bourbon Street. The man was David Woolworth, an acoustics expert hired by the City Council, and he was taking decibel measurements as part of an effort to better manage the volume dial in a city long famous for its street musicians, boisterous crowds and perpetual parades.Dave, are they trying to sanitize Bourbon Street before we arrive? What the hell man?

A Man Called Destruction
"A quiet life away from music helped save him. He apparently stopped drinking and left Memphis for New Orleans. (None of his friends understood how that would help.)"

I'm back little bitches!
The New Orleans trip was amazing. I did the following:
1) Ate and drank at Parasol's in the Irish Channel
2) Went to a house party
3) Had beignets and cafe au lait
4) Played music with friends
5) Drank at Pal's Lounge, Mick's, the R Bar, dba, Les Bon Temps, etc.
6) Saw Rebirth Brass Band at the Maple Leaf (see above for some RBB footage)
7) Went to the National WW2 Museum and saw an amazing 4D film
8) Hung out with lots and lots of old friends
9) Had a mufaletta at Frank's
10) Drank a daiquiri in the Quarter
11) Had to stop my car so a parade could pass by
12) Toured the 9th Ward and was inspired by lots of new construction
13) Didn't die of alcohol poisoning
LBUMG 11 is my new mantra!

Glyn Styler Doesn't Care What You Think
I can't believe I've never heard of this guy before. What's interesting is that by the end of the video I was not sure whether Styler or Brent Newman is the imaginary character. Or maybe both.

New Orleans Roundup
Our trip to New Orleans was great. A future Bastardos Convention most certainly must take place in the Crescent City. Here are a couple of highlights:

A picture perfect meal at Port o' Call. Andrew knows what I'm talking about.

Breakfast at Cafe Du Monde.

Adam, Paul, and Fat Dave after shots of Jaeger at Balcony Bar.

.... and crawfish at Paul and Tama's the night before we left. Food, food, food. Drink, drink, drink. Recover, recover, recover.

Uh Oh

Dave, what exactly did you get up to this weekend?
BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux was suspended indefinitely for an unspecified violation of team rules, leaving his status unclear for the start of spring practice Feb. 29.

New Orleans Bound
If I don't check in for the next few days its because we'll be in New Orleans for a wedding this weekend and a couple of days of play afterwards. Not that you bastards would have noticed anyway. I'm extra excited because its been a year (the longest stretch since Katrina) since I've been there. Looking forward to some crawfish, public drunkeness and sharing the streets with basketball players (look it up Jay).
Lurker, you're in charge while I'm gone.
