ok iahve to admit that i never got the whole tom waits thing. although the cookie monster song in an erlier post was catchy. i just can't get past the voice...
I'm really loving this on first listen. The last studio album, Real Gone, was a little extreme even for me, but this one has a little bit of everything. Diggin' it! Great month for music!
Waits is a bit of an acquired taste, but if it helps, not all of the new one is sung in the cookie monster voice. I wasn't a fan until Bone Machine, and even then, I'm not a regular.
I jumped on the bandwagon in the 80s around the time of Swordfishtrombones, and Frank's Wild Years. Some of the old stuff like Heart Attack and Vine, Closing Time, etc. are nice places to dip the toes into as well. But yeah, he's an acquired taste.

I. Love. You.
Thank you, sir! (I'm a sucker of deluxe collector's editions, so my copy is in the mails.)
Rightbackatcha, Dave!
And Mike, you're a sucker.
Um, what comes with that deluxe edition, exactly?
