I was late to this party......

I didn't get into Guided By Voices until a couple of years ago. I was so out of it, I didn't even know the band was the source for Jay's old blog's name. This is a great slice of Big Star style pop rock that the rest of you were probably sick of several years ago.

Oh hell, yeah! Jay guided me to Guided originally, but I've never held that against them.

'Surgical Focus' or whatever it's called might be the best song ever.

It's funny, but I've been on a GBV kick lately and have been listening to a lot of them. I saw them in Austin, and it was an experience.

Dave, I agree completely about "Surgical Focus," and I might also nominate "Glad Girls," "The Best of Jill Hives," "Chasing Heather Crazy," and "I Am A Scientist" as best song ever.

I think when Pollard's on, no one can touch him, but when he's off, he's horrid. (I can't even make it all the way through Alien Lanes.) Bob once announced in an interview that he can write five songs sitting on the toilet, and three of them will be good.

I think that number is probably closer to one or two ...

Oh, and fuck you, Lurker.

I also love Echoes Myron, My Valuable Hunting Knife and Cut-out Witch. No one's better at naming songs, that's for sure, 14 Cheerleader Cold Front, for instance.

I think the sickie wickies are making somebody a little bit grumpy.

Consumption is no laughing matter.
