Bastards Assemble! Or at least two of us!
The cool bastards assembled in Durham this weekend. Above you'll see, from left to right, me, Joe and Eric. It was a swell time except when Eric discussed his nipples and when the Saints lost. Also, I greeted Eric for the first time in maybe 30 years whilst dressed as a golfing zombie. Otherwise, business as usual. Below, our requisite Fuck Jay pic.

Be The First Bastard On Mars!
I'm joking, not sure anyone here meets the criteria:
"Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, have a deep sense of purpose, willingness to build and maintain healthy relationships, the capacity for self-reflection and ability to trust. They must be resilient, adaptable, curious, creative and resourceful."
Also you don't get to come back.
Also you have to star in a reality TV show.

SkyHigh Airlines
Here's to safe travels for our China-bound bastard.
The Pacific Northwesterners among us enjoyed Alaska's "SkyHigh Airlines" campaign in the 1980's... don't know if it got national play.
I employ the captain's thumbs-up and wink as much as I can get away with.

World Travel Shenanigans
I love travel. I've been called an idiot more than once. Thus, a new show called "An Idiot Abroad" is right up my alley. It's the brain child of Ricky Gervais. He sends his dim witted buddy Karl on a trip around the world just to put him out of his comfort zone and see what happens. Hilarity ensues and it's on the Science network. Ch-ch-ch-check it...

Caroline and I are leaving this afternoon for our swing through Washington, Vancouver B.C., and North Idaho. See ya!

Boooooooring . . .
Driving through Baton Rouge earlier this month, I saw this intriguing sign (my cell phone photo, followed by one from the paper):

Obvious question: did someone really have the balls to put up a billboard like this if the contents were contraband of some kind? Turns out, to my disgust, that the missing box contains student loan records lost by a document retention company. As I have long suspected, truth is not actually stranger than fiction.

Ahoy!
OK, it is what is. An Old Spice commercial, but with Bruce Campbell.
Atlanta was Atlanta. Traffic and a bunch of people, but also a lot of traffic. Got gas on my hands refilling my rent-a-car, was late getting to the airport and had to rush, but security was a bitch. Stress, I'm sweating like the athlete I'm not, but then the arriving plane was late. And the departure was even later, an hour later. Traffic, I guess. Atlanta was Atlanta, and I'm happy to be home and listening to Flop, which is somehow better than when I left it. At the end of the day, music may be the only thing that doesn't fail you. And my 2 cents: Atlanta sucks!
