Dylan!

Going to see Bobby tonight in Tallahassee. Needless to say, I'm excited. It occurred to me this weekend that Lennon was actually older than Dylan. I had always just assumed the opposite.

  1. I last saw Bobby D last summer at a show with Mellencamp and Willie Nelson. I didn't enjoy nearly as much as the previous times I'd seen him as it took the form of an endless blues jam with a few recognizable lyrics thrown in. Still, that's the deal with Dylan: you never know what you're going to get. Hope the show is great.

  2. If there's any justice in the universe (there's not), Joe's fandom will be rewarded with an unforgettable night.

  4. Great show. He was really a lot more animated than I've ever seen him. He split his time evenly between piano, guitar, and just singing (with harmonica). He appeared to even dance a bit, motioned to the audience to sing along on a chorus or two, and smiled a lot. The band sounded great, if not, like Dave says, a little too bluesy for a little too long at points. He's been doing really hit-laden setlists, but after a singalong version of "Just Like A Woman," he launched into 3 songs from the last couple of albums and did good loooong versions of them, which had a lot of fans going to get beer.

Sometime around the encore a mildly attractive older woman (she was probably my age) started really heavily hitting on me. Like trying to hold my hand and putting her arm around me and stuff. I don't know where it came from. I never even saw her until she was rubbing up against me. It was funny for a bit, but then it got annoying. My friend Mike and I got a good laugh about it.
