    I didn't get a helluva lot of reading in this year, but the one that stood out:

    Goshawk Squadron - Derek Robinson
    Our Band Could Be Your Life - Michael Azzerad
    All Over but the Shouting - An Oral History of the Replacements
    When You Are Engulfed in Flames - David Sedaris
    The Omnivore's Dilemma - Michael Pollan

    I'm reading Matthiessen's 'Shadow Country' now. I should finish it in time for this year's best of list.
